My son couldn't stop raving about Baldo's Mexican Restaurant. He even woke up in the middle of the night from a dream about their food. Apparently, he's a regular and loves their Carne Asada Fries. So to validate his praise I checked out the Yelpers reviews and it looked pretty interesting. I had to try it! He volunteered to pick up a few dishes to go. We got two orders of the Carne Asada Fries and an order of Al Pastor Tacos which was not on their menu (I saw a posted picture of this dish and the tip) thanks to Yelper Samantha H. I also found out that you can order an Al Pastor Burrito as well. I guess I'm always attracted to things that are off the beaten path go figure... The Carne Asada Fries were the bomb delicious and the portions were hefty along with the yummy Al Pastor Tacos. Both dishes were tasty good and super filling! Baldo's I'm a fan...

It is what it is, it's Taco Bell on volume 10... it's what fast Mexican food was suppose to be. No fuss, no muss. The food is hot and very tasty. The California Burrito is killer! No frills place, no happy meals, or soft drink cups with Spiderman on the side or no free trinkets with the meal, just damn good food, generous portions. I support this local business Mom & Pop type family ran business. The place is impeccably clean too, another plus.

I was really apprehensive after I went to the location in Vacaville (Scary)! What a breath of fresh air! Ok, I'll knock off the drama. This used to be the old dairy queen. I can only be happy that they are gone, even though I was the DQ fan, just not the one at this location. But that's not what you want to know about, it is. Let's talk about quick and inexpensive Mexican Fast Food, done right. My favorites - Carne Asada Fries - Yes Gringo ala Mexico. Crispy crinkle fries topped with cheese, chopped carne asada, guacamole and sour cream. Weighs about 3 pounds and is about $6.95. Enough for 1 sumo wrestler or 2 normal eaters, or 3 of those skinny you know who's. Super Carne Asada Nacho's - A layer of Nacho's (duh), beans (refried), spanish aka Mexican rice, Carne Asada, guacamole, sour cream, cheese, salsa and lettuce. About 5 pounds and about $7.95. Enough for the Jolly Green Giant or the seven Dwarfs. Taquitos - Little tortillia's filled with beef or chicken, rolled and deep fried. Top with cheese, guacamole and sour cream. Don't remember the price, but I think they average about $.075 each with a minimum of 3 and maximum of 5. When I get the large order, I may or may not share 1 of them. Depends on how much I like you. Carne Asada Salad - $$$$ BARGAIN $$$$$ I think this is under 5 dollars. Lettuce, tomato, avacado and a ton of Carne Asada. Only drawback...... No dressing. My suggestion - Keep a bottle in the refrigerator at work (ranch works well). And - HORCHATA! Open 24 hours - You can call your order in - limited parking - drive thru available! No, they don't have a menu on-line. No, they don't have a menu to-go. But, pretty much if you've seen it on a Mexican Menu, they either have it or can make it! And this location is nice and clean. Can't vouch for the bathroom. I have one at work that I can vouch for.
